GRAND ILLUMINATION AND MORE

12/04/2010 - 12/07/2010

HIGHLIGHTS:    Grand Illumination of Williamsburg, Christmas Show in Myrtle Beach, & lots more ... 7 Meals

DEC 4...The holiday season is here, and we are off to celebrate in a way that our ancestors did over 250 years ago during the Colonial times of the 1700's.  Our motorcoach takes us into Virginia to historic Williamsburg, once the capital of our first English Colony.  We will spend 2 nights here, and celebrate our arrival with a Welcome Dinner. (D)

DEC 5...Williamsburg, served as the Colonial Capital of Virginia from 1700-1776. Our group will have admission to the attractions of this unique town. The historic buildings of the village have been restored to reflect their original state...the Old Jail, the Capitol Building, the Taverns, the Bakery, and the many craft shops. Strolling down the Duke of Glochester Street, you step back in time to America's early days. A luncheon or dinner will be scheduled in one of the Taverns, and we enjoy the sights of restored Williamsburg before the festivities of the Grand Illumination...a celebration of parading Colonial soldiers, the lighting of the city with candles in every window, and a spectacular fireworks display.  This is truly a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit.   (B,L or D)

DEC 6 ... Traveling south through the Carolinas, our next stop is Myrtle Beach. Arriving in the afternoon, we have time to enjoy the beauty of the ocean and a special Dinner before taking our seats at one of the theatres for a wonderful Holiday Revue of song, dance, and fun. (B,D)

DEC 7... Its been quite an experience, and seems almost too short, but we load our coach for the journey home with a greater appreciation of our Colonial ancestors and the manner in which they once celebrated Christmas!  A stop in Charleston for lunch is included before our return.  (B,L)
