RAGING WATERS & A TRAIN FROM NEW YORK

HIGHLIGHTS:  Springtime in the Mountains, Niagara Falls,  Skylon Tower,  New York City, Statue of Liberty, Broadway Show, Train Ride to Georgia  ... 9 Meals

 

MAY 5 ... The wonderful sights of Canada await us as we board our motorcoach for a journey across the Carolinas and into the Mountaineer State of West Virginia. Our home tonight is in Beckley with a Welcome Dinner. (D)

MAY 6 ...  The trail across winding mountain roads add to the appreciation of the beauty of West Virginia, as we cross the New River Bridge, the tallest single arch structure in the world. Through Pennsylvania and New York we continue our drive in route to the Canadian border.  Once through customs, Niagara Falls is our destination for the next 2 nights. (B)

MAY 7 ...  A local guide will meet us and host a very informative tour of the Falls and surrounding area. We will witness Niagara from different viewpoints, see the Floral Clock, visit the locks on Welland Canal, and learn of the rich history of this resort area. You will have the afternoon at leisure, to explore the village surrounding the Falls, take photos, shop, or try your luck in the casino. Tonight, experience a wonderful dinner atop Skylon Tower, a restaurant perched 775 feet above the base of the Falls.  (B,D)

MAY 8 ...  Clearing Customs, we enter the USA as we travel through the beautiful terrain of western New York.  We pass Syracuse, Utica, and Albany, NY before spending the next two nights across the river from Manhattan in New Jersey. (B,D)

MAY 9 ...  After breakfast, we take the sightseeing tour of Lower Manhattan, with a stop in Battery Park to board the ferry for a trip to the Statue of Liberty.  Later on Broadway, our group takes in a matinee performance of one of the hit musicals along the "Great White Way.   You may enjoy dinner in the city before we return to our hotel  (B)

MAY10 ... This morning we board the PALMETTO for a train ride from Penn Station in New York to Savannah, GA , departing at 6:30am and arriving by 8:30pm.  What an experience as we take to the rail and travel the Eastern Seaboard thru New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, and the Carolinas.   If you choose, you may ride the bus back to Georgia with an overnight in Virginia, dinner and breakfast included, and arrive home the next day.
