SEP 18 ... Our flight arrives in the Emerald City of Washington state ... Seattle. A Local guide meets our group and narrates the history and points out the important sites on our tour ...Pike Street Market, the Pier, the Space Needle, and many more interesting places. Welcome Dinner. (D)
SEP 19 ... We begin our journey east traveling across the state of Washington, into the heart of the Apple Country and the beauty of the Cascade Range of mountains. We stop for lunch in Levenworth, a German village nestled in the mountains, and continue to Wenatchee for a fruit stop at one of the many stands. We overnight in the area. (B,D)
SEP 20 ... We continue east across Washington State and into Idaho with a stop for lunch at the Couer d' Alene Resort on the lake. Following east into Montana, we travel in one of
America's most beautiful states, with the mountains of Montana as our backdrop. Taking backroads through ranches, farmlands, forests, and rocky terrain, we skirt Flathead Lake, (the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi) and arrive in Big Fork. This small artist community is quite a surprise ..a tourist haven with small shops, cafes, galleries situated at the lakeside. Later we check into our hotel in Kalispell for a 2 night stay at the foot of the majestic mountain peaks known as the "Alps of America"...Glacier National Park. (B,L)
SEP 21 ... A spectacular highlight is in store today as we board Glacier National Park vehicles and travel up and over Logan Pass along the famed "Going To The Sun" Highway, one of the most scenic mountain roads in the world. Be on the watch for deer, elk, moose, grizzlies, mountain goats, and wolves! The vistas will astound you...sky-scraping craggy peaks, lush alpine meadows, pristine lakes, more than 50 glaciers, a narrow winding road, and the thrill of a lifetime. The group enjoys a luncheon at Lake McDonald Lodge at the end of the tour. We return to Kalispell after an unforgettable day. (B,L)
SEP 22 ... Montana ... so scenic and we travel on highways where there are mountains on every side. A beautiful drive across the "Big Sky". We will overnight in Bozeman of majestic Montana. (B)
SEP 23 ... Just a short drive away is the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. A ranger boards our motorcoach at Mammoth Hot Springs to provide narration on all the sights that we will see in America's oldest National Park...Yellowstone Falls and Canyon, the Lower Geyser Basin, and of course, Old Faithful. We will enjoy lunch in the park and overnight in the western village of Cody, Wyoming. (B,L)SEP 24 ... Crossing the Big Horn Mountains at G
ranite Pass, 8950 feet high, we travel the rugged "Cowboy State" of Wyoming, with antelope grazing peacefully along the roadside. Our day's trip ends in Rapid City, the heartland of the Black Hills, for a two night stay. (B,D)
SEP 25 ... Today is a grand experience as we tour the Black Hills and see the inspiring patriotic Mt. Rushmore. We'll travel along the Needles Highway, turn round and round the Pig Tail Bridges, view wild burros and buffalo in Custer State Park, and visit the unfinished Crazy Horse Memorial. Lunch is at a quaint pioneer fort situated high on the ridges of the Black Hills. An afternoon stop in the small town of Keystone gives you an opportunity to stroll its only street with shops and galleries, and we return to Rapid City for the night. (B,L)
SEP 26 ... Our journey takes us across the Great American Prairie of South Dakota as we continue on to the Badlands, an eerie moon-like landscape of multi-colored ravines. We visit the one and only Wall Drug Store, known for the past 90 years for the free ice water and 5 cent coffee for anyone coming out of the Badlands. We'll stop at Mitchell to view the famous Corn Palace before arriving in the Sioux City, Iowa area for our overnight. (B)
SEP 27 ... The "Show Me" state provides much of our scenery today as we cross Missouri. A special stop is made in St. Joseph to visit the Pony Express Museum, the starting point for historic express mail delivery. Our afternoon journey takes us to the St. Louis to visit the Great Arch to the West. Overnight with dinner. (B,D)
SEP 28 ... After breakfast, we continue our journey through Illinois, Kentucky, & into Tennessee. We arrive in Nashville for a tour of "Music City". This is our final night of this exciting tour, so we celebrate with a Special Farewell Dinner. (B,D)
SEP 29 ... We have traveled completely across the USA, from sea to shining sea, and we can witness to anyone that America truly is Beautiful, especially the Northern Parks! (B)
